MY SPECIALTIES
MATERNAL MENTAL HEALTH
I specialize in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders or PMADS. PMADS is a cluster of disorders that are currently considered the #1 medical complication related to childbearing. These include depression, bipolar disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, panic disorder, OCD and PTSD that occur during the time from pregnancy through the first year after giving birth.
I received my training from Post Partum Support International (PSI). I can also say that I am a survivor.

DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY AND PTSD
Due to the busy nature of our lives, we do not take time to identify what our issues are, until the wheels are starting to fall off. Sometimes, we just need a little support in doing so. In our work together, we will identify any mood concerns that you might have. Difficulty with low mood, feeling unmotivated, low energy, and sadness are typical symptoms of depression. Anxiety or stress often come tagging along, with depression. Truly, we face numerous expectations and multiple responsibilities on a daily basis. Anxiety can feel and look like panic, worry, restlessness and sometimes irritability. It too, can however, come in different packages. We will work together to identify your symptoms and create an effective treatment plan together.
PTSD is a unique manisfestation of a cluster of symptoms. You might have heard it said that everyone has PTSD. This is not true, but many people have experienced trauma and we all respond differently. It is important to discuss your symptoms with a healthcare or mental health professional for an accurate diagnosis.
